Weeno Media is delighted to announce that it will be sponsoring the Best Popculture blog at the 2008 Irish Blog Awards. At Weeno we specialise in offering the latest multimedia techniques and newest trends to all of our clients, so we felt it appropriate to give something back to all the trend setters out there.

The closing date for nominations is 9pm this Friday January the 18th, so there is still time to get over to their site and vote. Remember you don’t have to vote in every category just the ones you are interested in. The Awards will be on Saturday, March 1st, at 7.30pm in the Alexander Hotel in Dublin.

We would just like to say thank you to the organiser Damien Mulley who has done trojan work for the Irish web industry as a whole and in particular the Blogosphere. This is his 3rd year organising the event and will no doubt be the best yet.

I have been using the godaddy search bar to search for domains for a while now but I got annoyed at not having the .ie option.

So I said I’d go write a little application to do the same with Blacknight domain search, just go here click add and it will add Blacknight domain search to the list of search engines in the Firefox search bar in the top right like this. No need to specify a domain when searching either just a word it will search for .ie, .com,.net, .org, .biz, .info, .co.uk, .tv, .mobi, .be and .me.uk and any others that Michele adds as it just directs you to the default Blacknight Domain search page. Weeno Media has registered www.walking.ie recently.

We have plans of creating an information portal for all things walking related. The site will contain details on all the different walkways throughout the country, providing detailed information about the routes as well as providing a forum for people to talk to each other and give advise about equipment to use, recommended walking routes among other things. More details about the site will available as time goes by but we aim to create the essential information source for all things walking related.

Pro Bono Publico is a free DVD Magazine that is available around Dublin. The DVD contains short films both animation and traditional as well as music videos and a host of other media. We know one of the members of the Pro Bono team from years past when we were in college. The lads are doing a really good job and the DVD is currently in its 4th Issue which includes a booklet with extra content. The 5th issue will be out soon and will contain even more great content. My hometown is the town of Athy in the south of Kildare. Like most towns in Ireland there has been a lot of development in the last few years thanks to the boom in construction. There are many new developments planned in the coming years for the town and to help promote the growth of the town Weeno Media are creating a highly detailed interactive brochure that will provide a wealth of information for all interested. The brochure will provide information about the town as it is now including facilities, heritage, transport etc. as well as developments that are planned for the future which will help the town grow and prosper.
